The election is over and a decision has been made. President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are who the people have elected to lead this country for the next 4 years. Unfortunately, down ballot races in the Senate and House of Representatives. In order to talk about what Democrats can and should do moving forward, I talked to Isaac Wright, a veteran communications strategist.

He has appeared as a political commentator on Fox News Channel, CNN, POTUS Radio, Sky News, and other national and local programs.

How do you reason with conspiracy theories in the GOP?

"There are honest hardworking Americans [in the GOP] ... who can take the Republican Party back. It was the Republican Party of Howard Baker that stood up to President Nixon... We need leadership in the Republican Party like we had in that era. We need to see that come back. It is time our country can mend. ... Together we can work to move the country forward."

How do you respond to comparisons of chaos in the current Republican Party to alleged chaos in the Democratic Party in 2016?

"I don't remember any insurrections at the US Capitol fomented by politicians in 2016. That seems to be a unique problem of the Trump era. ... I can't remember anything in 100 years that is a precedent or comparison to that or the chaos of the Trump -McConnell era."

We can rebuild together

"Thankfully Democrats have the numbers right now [in Congress] that they can go about the business of the people while Republicans are in chaos. Our country is hurting. We need leadership. We need support. Thankfully Joe Biden has offered that with the American Rescue Plan that would help put people back to work, that would help meet the needs of those who have lost so much during this pandemic and its effects, that would help get the critical materials and resources to schools and counties and cities and state governments to help schools get to a place where they can reopen safely. Hopefully Republicans will join and help work towards a better future for our nation."
